Rayman Joins the Battle?

Move aside Mewtwo, Ubisoft’s limbless hero Rayman is allegedly the next planned DLC character to appear in “Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS!”

During the development of every new Smash Bros. title, the rumor mill has a tendency of spinning out of control as fans try to predict and solicit which upcoming fighter is likely to join the cast. Now that the fourth iteration of the highly anticipated brawler has been available for quite some time, the online community has been pretty tame since then. Good times doesn’t last forever, since NeoGAF user Mr. Macintosh!! leaked some information regarding a new potential DLC character — aside from Mewtwo of course.

There’s always going to be two sides of the argument when it comes to rumors — no matter what. The optimistic side of readers are stating that this information could be legitimate, due the clarity of the photos and video (which was eventually removed by the user, unfortunately). However, the pessimistic bunch is immediately debunking this as being fake, and some are nitpicking his eyebrows as more evidence to back up their claim.

Despite the fact that Rayman would be a rather peculiar addition to the overall roster, let’s take into consideration that his trophy is featured in the game. Even Mewtwo’s trophy was discovered as well, which was later confirmed as a returning character that’s slated for spring 2015. Rumors should always be taken with a grain of salt, however, this particular leak could possibly be the real deal!

For the time being, we’ll just have to wait and see on what Nintendo has to say about this matter.

Are you surprised that Rayman might join the Smash Bros. roster? Let me know in the comments below.
