The heroic blue hedgehog and his mighty friends are beginning their new adventure earlier than we expected.

“Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric” was originally slated for the Wii U on Nov. 18 in North America. However, SEGA felt it was appropriate to release the title a week earlier along with “Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystals” on the 3DS. As of now, both entries will be debuting together on Nov. 11.

There’s some speculation among Sonic fans about the decision being made from SEGA. We are presuming that the sooner Sonic Boom is released — the better it will be in terms of release recognition and sales. According to the rumors, “Super Smash Bros. for Wii U” is allegedly hitting the shelves on Nov. 21, so if that was the case — then Nov. 18 would not have been practical launch date for “Sonic Boom.”

Are you excited that “Sonic Boom” is coming a week sooner than originally planned? Let me know in the comments below.
